intervals

30/8/2020

almond blossom
nectarine blossom - buds in waiting
freesias
mantis ootheca (NZ native)
the interval between cleaning my teeth in the morning & in the evening
seems longer these days
the interval between poems is 2 days
I am consistently 2 poems behind

the interval between meals is less
unless i am sleeping longer hours, i am eating more
the interval between going to sleep & waking hasn't changed
i am definitely eating more

the interval between exercise is longer
i am moving less
the interval between day & night is lengthening
soon i will be able to walk in daylight after 6pm

the almond is laden with blossom & the nectarine is about to break bud
spring is just around the corner
the freesia are in full bloom
it is likely to rain for the next 2 weeks

there are 2 mantis ootheca on the nectarine this year
i'm not sure what this means other than i recently discovered the mantis' egg case is called ootheca
& i wanted to use that word in this poem

xx
